Q. I have Windows7 Home edition and which Windows 8 version do I need?
A. Because you have Windows 7 Home, you can't get upgrade to Windows 8 Pro. You have to do a clean install of Windows 8 Pro.
There is no difference between the two, it's just the way it's installed that's different. Windows 8 upgrade means you just upgrade to Windows 8 but keeps all the previous data on Windows 7. The clean install method is to format your entire computer (deletes everything) and start off fresh. Now this is the method I recommend because it will have less problems and your computer will go back to tip-top performance.
But as said, you can only do a clean install. You cannot upgrade to Windows 8 Pro. So get the proper version (which you called Windows 8 Pro).

How can I upgrade to windows 8 without having to buy a external hard drive?
Q. How can I upgrade from windows 7 to windows 8 without having to buy a external hard drive or a huge amount of discs? I have heard people saying to partition your hard drive, but I don't know how to do that, if it is possible to partition your hard drive in a situation like this, how would I do that, a informative link would help me just fine.

If I purchase an upgrade to Windows 8, can I use my Windows 7 retail license on a different computer?
Q. 2 years ago I purchased a retail copy of Windows 7 Professional. I want to purchase Windows 8, but what will that do to my (expensive) Windows 7 license? After I upgrade, can I install Windows 7 on a different machine using my Windows 7 license since my other machine will now have a Windows 8 license?
A. Yes you can install it on a different machine. Or you could even do a dual boot and have it on the same machine.
I just upgraded to windows 8 - I used to be able to watch youtube & play freecell at the same time but?
Q. I can't figure out how to minimize the freecell game so I can play freecell and watch youtube at the same time. Any suggestions? I am running windows 8 on a laptop. This worked perfectly on windows 7.
A. Start a game of Freecell. Put your pointer at the very top of the screen and it will turn into a hand.
Click and drag it to either the left or the right.
You can do the same thing with a keyboard shortcut: Win + .
Win + D to get back to the desktop.
Freecell will be open on the desktop where your web browser is open.
