Windows 8 Review Preview problems?

Posted by admin on Saturday, December 15, 2012

Q. So last night I updated to Windows 8 Review Preview. Today my laptop has suddenly stopped. It's weird though because I can still switch tabs (Chrome) and minimize the window, but it won't let me click on anything else. Also all music and videos stop mid stream. Has anyone else faced this problem?? Any help??

A. Windows 8 is a buggy little beta program. You're going to experience A LOT of issues between now and when your beta trial expires.

All Win 8 users are supposed to post on one of the Win 8 forums to share your bugs. That way Microsoft knows what bugs have been found so that they can be sure and fix it before they release the real Windows 8.

Thanks for being a tester for the rest of us. Good luck with your beta.

windows 8 reviews what do you think?
Q. so im posting this in the section i think the most tech savvy will be in what do you guys think about windows 8 its free right now and in dev but it looks like another vista
why
same desktop
same everything ive seen
they just added a new sceen and new features
what cons or pros do you guys see and do you think it will be a complete sucsess and be worth getting like windows xp and 7 or will it fail and be a windows me or vista

A. Hello there ?. I hope I can your question to the best of my ability. A lot of people on here think that Win7 was built from the ground up. Well, I can you now, it wasn't. What they did was to take the best parts from xp and that stupid vista and eventually turn it into the thing we now know as Win7. But as I said, it was not new. As for Win me, I wont even talk about that. haha. I think it will be a bit better here and there because they don't want another "WOW" factor on their silly hands. Hahaha. We will have to wait and see what Win8 is like when it finally comes out. Also, that greedy Bill Gates never supplied proper installation disks with Win7 as you would know, so you had to make your own they're by saving him money by not having to get third parties to make them and in doing so allowed him to make even more money. Your correct, it have a few more add on's to con you into getting it. But, unless it comes with a proper installation disk like our good xp did, I would never ever buy a Computer with Windows8 all ready installed. Sorry about the long rant, but it was the only way I knew how to explain it. Eric.

Windows 8 Consumer Review?
Q. after Windows 8 Consumer Review is over (for the official version to release), will I be able to keep Windows 8 CR without buying it?

or if I don't buy it, they will lock my computer? :/ , (since there's no way to uninstall an operating system.)

Im sorry it a stupid question but im really confuse

A. Microsoft will more than likely disable any beta releases after their official version of Windows 8 is released for sale.

Chances are you'll be given some kind of notice from within Windows 8, telling you that you need to purchase the full version. If you pay for a license key, the consumer preview version you have will more than likely unlock itself, install some updates and be as good as new.

Reviews of windows 8?
Q. Im kinda thinking about getting it for my alienware m14x. But im not sure. Whats it like? do you guys like it?

A. With your computer, it might run but I wouldn't recommend it. Very slow loading apps, The install took around 6hrs and that was an upgrade from w7 32bit w/2GB RAM. If you are a gamer and want to run your system at a high level, I suggest sticking w/w7 64bit.

Need reviews on Windows 8?
Q. Hi, I was thinking to install Windows 8 Developers preview. Any Suggestions, guides or reviews would be appreciated. Thanks

A. Are you aware that it expires on March 11? And frankly, it sucks. My husband is a MS fanboy and playing with it has convinced him to switch to Linux full time and use the PS3 and/or one of my older Macs for gaming.

You can download it from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/br229516 and there's an install guide at http://www.pcworld.com/article/240119/how_to_download_and_install_windows_8_on_a_new_partition.html
